Description

Brigitte Bardot talks with a member of the production, during a break from the filming of “Il disprezzo”, film based on the novel by Alberto Moravia and directed by Jean-Luc Godard. The film, set between Rome and Capri over 2 days, tells the story of the French writer Paolo Javal (M. Piccoli), who lives in Rome with his 28-year-old wife Emilia (B. Bardot). Javal arrives in Cinecittà summoned by the american producer Jerry Prokosch (J. Palance) to rewrite the script for a film. On this occasion he takes with him his wife in crisis with her husband; she gives in to Prokosh’s courtship. Paolo sees them kissing and in order to not to lose his wife, he seems to want to give up his job, but now the contempt that Emilia has towards her is too great.
